1.General Information

Aluminized steel may be steel that might have been hot-dip coated on both sides with aluminium-silicon alloy. This process might assure a tight metallurgical bond between the steel sheet and its aluminium coating,possibly producing a material with a unique combination of properties possessed neither by steel nor by aluminium alone. Aluminized steel could show a better behavior against corrosion[1] and keeps the properties of the base material steel for temperature lower than 800 °C (1,470 °F). For example, it would be commonly used for heat exchangers in residential furnaces, commercial rooftop HVAC units, automotive mufflers, ovens, kitchen ranges, water heaters, fireplaces, barbecue burners, and baking pans. This steel could be very useful for heating things up because it transfers heat faster than most other steels.

- This is the major topic of research for many commercial companies which prepare Oven and Grill cleaning products. The carbon itself is bound to the metal with denatured (carbonized) fat or oil molecules. These are generally effected only by very strong bases such as Sodium hydroxide (lye) which will react with aluminum and cause discoloration and chemical pitting. Mechanical removal using sharp blades or soft metal bristle brushes will work, but requires much labor. Steel wool is also used, but removes some of the metal from the surface of the pans. Special electrical devices have been used with success, but tend to slowly wear away the top layer of aluminum. Professional cooks ignore the problem by replacing aluminum with stainless steel pans. Home and do-it your-selfers tend to allow the buildup until everything sticks and then replace the pans. There has been a few who have seasoned their aluminum pans in a fashion similar to cast iron with mixed results. If this is for pizza pans for your restaurant, I suggest soaking the pans overnight in a strong solution of Dawn Dish-washing Liquid and then taking the pans to a steam car wash to remove the detergent.

- you will need to speak to an electrician, but the last i heard the wiring is not the problem, the problem is using things like outlets that are not rated for aluminum. copper in the outlet heats up where it joins the house wiring, and the house burns down. when aluminum first came out, some moron forgot to test for that, so there were a lot of a fires. people have mistakenly blamed the wiring. as long as you dont run to home depot and grab the cheapest outlet you see and say this is just as good . you will be fine.
- Q:doesn't particularly need to be welding but i need to make an air tight permanent seal around 2 very thin sheets of aluminium (like .02 inches thick) i was thinking .02 inch 5052 aluminum because its the thinnest i can find but am obviously up for suggestions.
- May be you can use spot welding.But may be that would not give you an air tight permanent seal.So,you can go for Hydraulic pressing as in FERRARI 599 GTO's exhaust.(QUITE EXPENSIVE to be done at personal level)
