- Q:I have a Nike SQ Sumo 21 degree and it is a steel shaft. I hit the ball very high with this club and I lose distance. I don't hit any of my other clubs high it's just this one. Is it because of the steel shaft or is it the club? Help please.
- if you are a good player they say steel shaft is better. more consistent. I prefer graphite its lighter and I can flip my wrists easier.

- Cast steel uses specific alloys of steel designed to improve the casting process. It has a specific strength and toughness range based on the alloying ingredients. It physical properties are a bit different from rolled steel. The primary problems with casting steel are porosity and voids or spaces where the mold is not completely filled with molten steel. These do not effect the basic strength of the steel but they can degrade the ability of the casting to function as designed.
- Q:Are they made using the same processes, or is tempered steel made without the quenching process?
- No. Not quite. The term 'Hardened steel' is often used to refer to 'Heat treated steel'. There are two separate steps in heat treatment. First the red hot steel is 'quenched' (rapidly cooled). This yields maximum hardness ,but the steel may be too brittle for the intended purpose. The next stage, 'tempering' is heating to a limited temperature, and slow cooling. This reduces the hardness somewhat, depending on the re-heat temperature, but restores some of the toughness lost in the first stage.

- Hi, Since you haven't mentioned a price range, all I can say is that there are plenty of good guitar brands in the moderate to high price range. A good place to start would be to check out these brands - Martin, Taylor, Yamaha, Gibson. There are plenty more but these will get you started. In a lower price range - Epiphone, Takamine and Washburn have some nice guitars as well. There are a LOT of good brands that I haven't covered. These are just the usual suspects. Most of these will be good instruments and they vary in the quality of the wood used and in finer points of their design build, so don't worry too much about finding a 'gem'. Get one of the store staff members to play the guitars a little bit for you and you can pick out the one that sounds best. The sound is the most important. Happy hunting! :) Edit: jcr has a point. - Hot drinks only do well in an insulated thermos. Thermos's were designed for hot drinks. This stainless steel water bottle is not a thermos. You could put hot chocolate or coffee in the water bottle, but you'll burn your hand if you touch it. And, it will cool down very quickly.
- Q:With the Reduced weight of steel,wouldn't the projectile be at a much higher velocity when fired causing more damage?I mean l couldn't steel be worked to seal the bore,not damage the rifling and still cheap enough to mass produce,and be light enough to carry much more ammo.
- Okay one side note before going into the main issue. Steel is really really hard on rifle barrels. Okay, so the most common lead 9mm bullet weighs 124 grains. If all that was wanted was higher velocity, you could switch to a 115 grain bullet (which some people do), or even a 90 grain bullet if you are a reloader. (You see 90 grain bullets for 380 acp ammo, that same bullet could be reloaded onto a 9mm cartridge) But velocity alone doesn't give power. That's why a 115 grain 9mm bullet going at it's standard velocity does less damage than a 45 acp's 230 grain bullet going at it's standard velocity, because it weights twice as much and yet is going only a little bit slower But now go out to your front yard and grab a ping-pong ball and a rock about the same size. Throw them both as hard as you can. The ping-pong ball while lighter didn't go very far did it. See, the ratio of surface area to overall weight of ping-pong ball is very high, so air resistance works on it a LOT. And that is what makes lead so great for projectiles. It is dense so you have a very small surface area per unit of weight meaning that a steel bullet may beat lead in initial velocity but just 50 feet out the lead bullet would be going pretty much the same speed and at 100 yards out the steel would be dramatically slower. Note this is the same reason why 'secret sniper ice bullets' would never work even if you could get it to not melt...it's just too light. Ever hear of tanks and airplanes firing DU ammo? That stands for Depleted Uranium, it is something that is even more dense than lead which is why it makes an even better bullet than lead

- The Steel Eclipse Type WG was the first of several self-oiling steel windmills marketed by Fairbanks, Morse, and Company after they became the distributor of all the Eclipse mills about the start of the 20th Century. It has the more important distinction of having been the only widely distributed worm-gear mill in the history of American windmill manufacture. Produced from about 1926 to the mid-1930's, the Steel Eclipse remains in the field today in considerable number in most parts of the country. Hope this helps!

- Aluminum is non ferrous so a magnet won't persist with it, and this is softer than steel. once you have desperate that, if it has previous paint on it, this is particularly helpful to apply a primer that corresponds to the paint you would be utilising the two vinyl or oil based, then paint. this is possibly no longer Galvanized, yet whilst this is, the unpainted floor with have a 2 colour steel Spackle look.
- Q:What is the most common bullet resistant steel that is used, can certain bullets just not be stopped, also what type of glass is bullet resistant or is that special made.
- The trauma plates in most vests are made from titanium steel. But the real issue is how thick a plate of a particular material must be to soak up the kinetic energy of a particular bullet. Certain bullets are a lot easier to stop than others. But, again, it's all about the bullet mass and velocity. Bulletproof glass is usually several layers of glass bonded together with a clear plastic film and it's generally special made. Doug
- Q:so my parents gave me stainless steel cookware for christmas and the first time i used it i cooked chicken. it stuck to the pan and where the oil splattered it cooked on and turned it dark black and brownish. and the bottom too. i don't cook with it because i don't want to burn it on anymore but i don't know how to clean it. how do i cook without burning anything, aside from a lower flame and how on earth do i get the stains on. i've tried almost everything too! thanks.
- Use oven cleaner. It will take off the burnt on stuff just like it does in the oven. Spray it on, put the cover on the pot and let it sit for a while. If the problem is on the outside, do the same but put the whole thing in a garbage bag to control the fumes. Wash the pot like you would normally to get the oven cleaner off. You will want to wear gloves too. Oven cleaner is very caustic. By the time you realize you are being burned by it, it's too late. The oven cleaner should do nothing to the finish of the stainless.
