Q:Me and my cousin have been arguing about this. I said that superman is made out of steel, but he says that people just call him the man of steel because he's hard like steel. Does he have steel in his body?

Q:Building the bulwurk, general use on trawlers. What kind of steel is best suited.
Best amusing on right here in a while ,simply heading to the harbour bar to look at the fleet are available ,Booboo edged for me ,preferred the Liverpool one ,probably subsequent time we ll inform Chrispen its just a pleasant raid ,however excellent ,the entire equal
Q:Are steel or graphite clubs better?
If its for your bf, i would buy steel. Most guys prefer steel because it is more accurate and it think every guy on the pga tour uses steel shafted irons. Steel also usually costs less, which helps. Neither one is better, its just a matter of personal preference.
Q:I'm a hiker and cook on a camp fire with a canteen cup. So which would be a better material for cooking on a campfire with, aluminum or stainless steel?
I added a few more pieces. Love the glass lids. I have a couple pieces of Le Creuset, but it is too heavy even before the food goes in and I don't like dealing with it. I regret buying the Le Creuset now---should have just bought the Lodge Enameled Cast Iron stuff for about a fourth of the cost. I do have a Lodge 5 qt. dutch oven that I use to deep fry and it is a nice piece and easy to clean. The LC dutch oven does a nice job when I want stew-type recipes.
Q:I am in the market for a good hunting knife under $100. I am primarily looking for a knife that will keep it's edge. What type of steel should I be looking for?
Regardless of who makes the knife, you might look at stainless steel instead of the better tool steels like O2,M2 or D2...stainless takes more abuse and neglect than the others do.
Q:Measures to prevent cold rolling of packaged cold rolled steel coils? Who can give some professional opinions oh?
In order to prevent rusting in the process of storage or transportation of steel roll, steel mills generally take the following packing: inner gas antirust paper wrapped with tape wrapped in plastic film sealing, intermediate, involute cardboard seal lining, cardboard corner, with iron and steel outer package corner protector, strapping fixed. If the inner package seal, so the steel coil is sank into the water, will not rust out.
Q:I bought this Brinks pad lock and it says boron steel on the lock. I was just wondering what exactly is boron steel and how hard/tough is it?
Boron steel is rather hard, it is by no means titanium, but certainly better than mild steel. However, as with all metals, hardness is inversely proportional to flexibility, meaning that a good solid whack with a sledge hammer could crack your lock.
Q:3 bedroom rambler with attached garage. A bad hail storm in May damaged my white siding and roof. I am concerned insurance adjustThanks much.er will not give me replacement value for steel siding. Any one know the cost and where to buy in Minnesota.
they both cost around the same
Q:This question is directed to anyone who has played or know someone who plays a lap or pedal steel guitar.I've been a guitarist for about 8 years now and have played a variety of styles from rock, fingerstyle/classical, singer/songwriter acoustic stuff, ect, and now I've really had an interest in learning how to play a lap steel or pedal steel guitar. I am completely new to the instrument(s), so I'm seeking all the information I can. I do know that a pedal steel is a lot more expensive, so I'm probably looking to start on a lap steel for now. Basically how should I get started? Should I find a cheap lap steel at a pawn shop or purchase something new? Are there any good method books out there? I'm a pretty experienced guitarist, so should I expect to get the hang of it quickly? Is there much of a market for a lap/pedal steel player? haha. Also, I am left handed. How much trouble would it be to re-string a steel guitar? Or would I be better off getting a left-handed model?

Q:This problem has puzzled me for a long time i always think about why stranded people on islands cant make a proper civilization and i always think it comes down to the ability to work metal. But its not like they could make a steel smelter/furnace out of sand...they would need an older one to use to make the new one...where the hell did the first one come from then????
originally steel was made by hand- by hammering an iron ingot (easily obtained from turf iron), heating it in coal (allows the carbon to penetrate the iron) then folding it and hammering it again- several hundred times. with each such procedure the iron absorbs more carbon and becomes steel of course steel smelters made this process simpler- but then you can't get damascene steel out of a smelter... the island civilisations could make smelters out of clay. But finding clay or iron ore on a coral island would be a forlorn task
