- Well I think that the larger issue here is.. will you be able to eat the food that comes from the containers that are not microwaveable. Many food grade plastics are meant for storage and not reheating. Chances are if you select any old plastic tub it could melt before your food even gets hot! As far as I know butter tubs and yogurt containers are NOT microwave safe. Obviously, plastics vary in their chemical composition. What they have in common is that they are formed by chemical reaction. If used with food in a microwave, they must not further react, they must not decompose into the food and they must not leach out components into the food. Using a yogurt container can melt it and therefore leach harmful chemicals into your food as well. Microwave plastic wraps, wax paper, cooking bags, parchment paper, and white microwave-safe paper towels should be safe to use. Never use thin plastic storage bags, brown paper or plastic grocery bags, or aluminum foil in the microwave. In summary, odds are if it doesn't say microwave safe.......... it probably isn't.

- i assume you mean for shopping. we of course use them for garbage,not for shopping. we use canvas bags,recycle what little plastic does make it into the house. those bags take so long to decompose,and they make up a huge amount of the litter in this area.

- Ans: Plastics are non-biodegradable materials. They take several years to decompose. It is not environment friendly and causes environment pollution. Also burning process of plastics is quite slow. In the process of burning it releases lots of poisonous gas into the atmosphere causing air pollution. Some plastics can’t be recycled and so, it is very difficult to finally dispose off such materials. Polythene bags, carelessly thrown in an eating garbage can cause death for the animals like - cows, dogs etc or sometimes even become a cause for clogging of the drains. - Don't worry - he won't be doing it much longer. Those plastic bags will choke him if you don't stop it now. Be more responsible ! I once witnessed a cat choke to death and it's an experience I will never forget as long as I live. Don't go through that.
