Hot-dip galvanized steel coils are available with a pure zinc coating through the hot-dip galvanizing process. It offers the economy, strength and formability of steel combined with the corrosion resistance of zinc. The hot-dip process is the process by which steel gets coated in layers of zinc to protect against rust. It is especially useful for countless outdoor and industrial applications.

Q:i got the belly button ring from icing and its surgical steel are they the same things?
yes they are same kind of steel
Q:Can a steel at 0.0055 of thickness still be powerful enough to bash skulls? As well as stop handgun cartridges or at least weaken them? You see, i had an idea of making a cylindrical Knuckles made from steel. By my dimensions, 5in diameter, 12 inch h1 and 15 in h2. Half-Sphere: a sphere that is cut in half for the dome at the fist:( [ pi x ( d ^ 3) ] / 6 ) / 2Cylinder
I don't follow your calculations. It seems to me that the piece you show could be made from .01 steel and still be less than a pound. Also, it is hard to get steel thinner than .015 because anything thinner is not very useful. If you made it out of .015 steel and used a high strength steel, it might be useful. You wouldn't be bashing any skulls, but with some spikes on the end, it could do some damage, and protect against knives or other hand weapons. You also won't get any bullet resistance out of anything that thin. If you want to bash skulls and deflect bullets, you have to get up to at least .10 and several pounds. Any weight on your hands slows down the speed of your punch, but this is compensated for by the increased energy of impact carried by the extra mass. Also, having something hard to protect your hands allows for harder hits and more damage to the opponent. An interesting idea, but it would take some testing to figure out the optimum configuration. One problem I see is that it completely encloses the hand, making it impossible to use the hand for anything else. So you would have to put it on and take it off a lot, and there would be cases where you wouldn't be able to put it on when you needed it. For that reason, I would not wear two at one time. I would make it heavier and wear it on one hand for bashing skulls and deflecting weapons, and keep the other hand free for other things.
Q:I would like to build steel galvanization plant.
How big of a kettle do you want to go with? A small 6-10 foot kettle would work fine for spinner work (small parts ran in baskets) but if you want to handle large beams and so forth you will need to have at least a 25 foot or longer kettle. You will need tanks for caustic, acid, rinsing, and preflux solutions. If you go with sulfuric acid it will have to be heated. The caustic and flux tanks need to be heated in any case. You will also need a bag house to control smoke coming off the kettle. First you should look into permits such to see if you can actually build this plant. Galvanizing is nasty work and the laws and regs are strict. Former Kettleman
Q:I had a damascus steel katana made for me and was wondering if I could put gun blue on it to make the steel black and it still work right
There are many makers that use blue on there Damascus. My question, what the heck are you wanting to mess with the finish for? If you had a true Damascus blade made that that thing cost a fortune, and I don't mean under a grand either. Then there is the question of what it is made from, some steel combinations react well to the gun blue, others not so much. If it is a stainless blade it won't work at all and you shouldn't be using it either. I can tell you, my Damascus blades start at $100 for a small cable knife and go up from there. If you wanted a sword it would push 10 g's easy. None of my customers would mess with the finish, most would cry if it got scratched. If it's has a pretty pattern don't mess with it.
Q:doesnt steel rust?
Iron mixed with other metals:
Q:I am about to do a welding project and we are instructed to only use mild steel. I want to use found objects like coins, spoons, bottle caps, screws, and other small fasteners. Are these mild steel? What other objects can I use that are mild steel?
Mild steel is what your friends get when they see your mom's cleavage.
Q:I heard about a new bike the specialized allez steel. Has anyone heard anything about it. it will have all brand new components like shimano 2300 parts and everything. it looks nice.
Steel? I doubt it's made out of steel, more labor and a heavier frame. Most likely aluminum. Shimano 2300 you say? The Shimano 2300 is the lowest of the low of Shimano road components. Most likely not too reliable and heavy. www.cyclestore .uk/productDetai... I think this is what you might be looking for.
Q:my friend needs sensitive ears....she wants to borrow mine but it says surgical steel, what does that mean?
Sergical steel means they are earings for sensitive ears. If she borrows them make sure you sanitize them before she wears them.
Q:I know aluminum is lighter but I'm looking at a 01 bianchi grizzly mountain bike which is steel. I used to ride a specialized stumpjumper m4 which was aluminum. It was quite light so I don't know if I'll like a bit heavier bike but overall what is better from those who have had both?
Im a huge fan of steel frames. #1. they dont feel like they are bouncing off things like aluminum #2. they absorb more vibrations #3. they can be fixed if you wreck them #4. They dont weigh much more (if anymore) then aluminum #5. you are in a very limited clique #6. a steel frame will far out-live an aluminum frame. #7. it doesnt sound like your riding a tin can. #8. break a hose or cable guide, and you simply can take it down to your local muffler shop and have them weld one back on.. an aluminum frame is so fragile it will probably have to be replaced. Aluminum frames do have their pluses. #1. they are very stiff #2. you dont have to worry about rust #3. every company on the planet makes aluminum frames so they are easy to find... #4. looks. because aluminum is so stiff, there are some very radical frame designs. steel frames are just boring to look at. if you like steel frames, you wont want to go to aluminum. if you like aluminum, you could consider steel.
Q:I know sterling silver can tarnish, so I was just wondering, how does stainless steel hold up?
