PORTLAND CEMENT
Portland cement is the most common type of cement in general use around the world, used as a basic ingredient of concrete, mortar, stucco, and most non-specialty grout.
It is a fine powder produced by heating materials in a kiln to form what is called clinker, grinding the clinker, and adding small amounts of other materials.
Several types of Portland cement are available with the most common being called ordinary Portland cement (OPC) which is grey in color, but a white Portland cement is also available.
Application

- Q:I have a crown that keeps coming loose and the dental cement does not seem to keep it attached. My husband seems to think I should try to super glue it back on. I think he is sniffing the super glue. What do you think?
- Call the dentist who put this crown on. Super glue might hold it, but if you get it in the wrong place you will have a mess to deal with! Super glue is used in many medical areas...

- I agree with Fraz. I would use sand mix.(just add water) Use thin-set to glue tiles to wall and I would also back butter each tile before placing them. Good Luck
- Q:My book is set in a medieval ish setting, and I need to know whether cement is an acceptable flooring for a cellar, or if stone should be used? Apparently cement has been used since the Ancient Egyptians, but I don't know if that's a good term for it. Is there an early term I could use? Or should i just use stone?

- I'll leave you to make glass out of limestone. Most people prefer to use sand. Cement is made by crushing the limestone down into a powder. Concrete gets made from cement mixed with other stuff such as water, sand.

- What cement? Just tell your doctor that you also have a medical degree and can decide for yourself what kind of treatment you need and for how long. Be sure to tell the doctor to his face, and NOT in writing. Because if you write it down, he will KNOW, for sure that you can't write beyond a third grade level and probably DON'T have a medical degree.
- Q:What type of cement should I use what is waterproof? and What type of glue should I use?
- Check out Fosters Smith aquarium catalog. There are special glues used for marine application. I don't think the the foam or cement will work. The fish will want to eat the foam and you will have to use a special type of cement that is non toxic. Try creating a rock wall with the marine glue. In addition you can make an interesting back drop that is placed behind the glass. Remember what ever you place in the tank will have to be removable so you can clean it. Fish dirt will collect in those areas with no filtration or current.
- Q:I know they grab onto wood and trellis' but, do they need some kind of support to cover a cement wall?
- Those vines will grow if theirs any little cracks in the wall. But their very invasive plants, and will eventually cover, the wall completely. At least mine of a similar variety did. Even broke down the wall some over a few years.

- Q:I have a 27 tv and bought a wall mount sufficient enough to support it except the wall is cement or concrete if there is a difference and there are no studs along the wall. Can I just use cement screws and what are they?
- Is the wall cement (solid) or cement block? If it's cement block, the blocks have hollow spaces so you have to drill them with a masonry bit and use toggle bolts. It the wall is solid cement, you can use any number of concrete anchors available at hardware and home improvement stores. BTW, the difference between cement and concrete is that concrete contains aggregate (like gravel) and concrete does not.
