Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel Coil

Hot-dip galvanized steel coils are available with a pure zinc coating through the hot-dip galvanizing process. It offers the economy, strength and formability of steel combined with the corrosion resistance of zinc. The hot-dip process is the process by which steel gets coated in layers of zinc to protect against rust. It is especially useful for countless outdoor and industrial applications.

Q:Why people prefer prefabricated buildings these days? Recently my friend has told me that he is going to owe a steel house so I was just thinking are these steel structures really durable and cheaper than concrete structures?
Definitely Steel Buildings and other prefab buildings are really durable than other concrete structures. They are also weather resistant and I think your friend is making a wise decision of buying a steel house... Also, these are usually cheaper than other buildings.
Q:ex: boat hull made out of steel
Galvinized means steel with a zinc coating. It is the best. For boats at port, and other fixed objects this can be supplimented with cathodic protection, an electrical method that substitutes corrosion of a sacrificial anode for the rusting of the steel. Epoxy and other coatings tend to be very temporary as they wear and scratch with use and lose all effectiveness if they cannot exclude seawater from contacting the bare metal. Zinc responds to abuse and can 'heal' over minor dings. The zinc is refreshed by periodic painting with a high zinc content paint or by electroplating.
Q:I have good quality knives that I sharpen with various things, but mostly with a fine, diamond encrusted dry stone (eze lap) . When I run them over the steel, it doesn't seem to make any difference. I've heard that it aligns the edge, whatever that means. Using a steel, is it all just for show ?
It does NOT sharpen a knife, It helps to keep a sharp knife sharp. Once you have sharpened your knife weather on a stone or other ways you should use the steel before using each time to keep it's edge . Think of an athlete who works out to gain muscles(sharpening) and stretches(steel) before using them. The show part is all in the way you use the steel, some just go downward and some go upward, either way you need to change sides of the blade on each stroke just like sharpening.
Q:looking for a good pocket knife. i keep going through these 440 steel pocket knives with every day work usage. this will be my 4th. even when i use a whetstone they stay sharp for a short period of time but the edge does not last, 440 is too soft! what is a good steel to look for in a pocket knife? also what are some good brands. ive been using gerber and buck sofar. if you could recommend me a few mid/small sized knives i would greatly appreciate it!
We hear it all the time and to be honest, it’s really, really hard to simply tell you what the ultimate pocket knife is. That’s because there are so many different knives on the market today and each one is suited to a different user and application. Of course there is a bunch of crap out there which we will endeavor to ensure you steer clear of but even after weeding those out you’re left with literally hundreds of choices from top quality manufacturers.
Q:What are the industries that consume the most steel?
I'm guessing manufacturing
Q:i need some ideas of what material could replace iron or steel to make fridges, stoves, dishwashers, tractors, aircrafts, cars and buses and anything else that is made of iron and steel. anything is greatly appreciated as at the moment i have no idea what to put down.
Iron and steel has, in lots of cases, been replaced by Aluminium and its alloys. Titanium and composite (Carbon reinforced resin) materials are also used where weight saving and non bending strength is required. Many of these types of materials are expensive and as iron ore is readily available it will be some time before it is replaced on a wide basis. Many other materials are not good where higher temperatures are concerned however there is an increasing use of ceramics being used for say stove tops. Hope this helps.
Q:I have a set of Stainless steel pots and pans. Everything is sticks to them. What must I do so things don't stick?
Stainless is great for many things but not so great for some others. Where you want sticking is when you saute meat. You want those crusty brown bits that when the pan is deglazed are the makings of a great sauce. Get yourself one or two non stick pans (preferably with a metal handle so it can go from stove top to oven). Use those where you wish to avoid sticking (like eggs / omelets, french toast or pancakes. Keep in mind that no one pan type is universally good for all types of cooking. My kitchen is mostly stocked with layered stainless steel. I have a few non-stick skillets, a carbon steel wok, a few cast iron skillets, an enameled cast iron dutch oven (le creuset), and a copper sauce pan. Each has its own use.
Q:I was watching a documentary on the samurai vs the European knight. It said that the when Japan was being invaded by the (cant remember) they needed a new weapon. The enemies armor made iron swords useless. While steel swords broke when in combat. So to combat this the Japanese made a hybrid sword. They used a special mold that made the swords back iron while the part that makes contact with the enemy was steel. Also the sword was curved so it increased its armor and cutting power. This revolutionary design made the the sword stronger. The iron back made it not break while the steel edge made it cut through the enemies armor. I want to know how iron is stronger than steel, and how steel can cut better than iron.

Q:I bought a stainless steel mood ring two days ago, but would it rust? Thanks in advance!

Q:I'm quite confused...i watched all of steel angel kurumi (the 28 episodes) and then continued to steel angel kurumi zero. it was an entire different story line with only the steel angels being the same. the world is different the guys are different, and there is a new character. Even the humor is gone. its like a whole different series. So what gives, what is the relationship between them?
Steel Angel Zero is an OVA (Original Video Animation), a very short animation that went straight to DVD. It probably was written because Kurumi was so popular, and the producer wanted to check the waters for whether they should make a second season. It's pretty hard to keep track of what anime is which, especially in the more popular series. If you think Zero is worth zero, try Steel Angel Kurumi 2 (anime, 12 episodes), and Steel Angel Kurumi Encore (OVA, 4 episodes) as well.
