Q:I am trying to print a black logo on a piece of plastic with my HP printer. I tape the plastic to a piece of paper and it makes it through but the logo just wipes off even after I let it sit for a while. It is like drawing with a magic marker on plastic. I tried the transparencie setting on my computer but it didn't work. Please tell me if there is any way to print this logo out on plastic so that it will dry and stay on. (The logo is 3/4in x 2in.)
i'm uncertain approximately on plastic, yet i think of a blacksmith ought to personalize it and do it on steel, or decrease from steel..... i seen some thing else, you're able to make a paper stencil and paint the emblem onto the plastic your self?
Q:It started off with her chewing plastic bags but now it's out of control. She chews everything with plastic, and it got to a point where I hid all plastic bags which caused her to chew my violin cushion's plastic ends, the labels on cables, even the cables themselves. She found my book which was in a plastic wrapper and started chewing so I threw the wrapper away at which she frantically dived in the bin. She chewed the bag in my wardrobe so I covered it with piles of clothes and pulled her away, just to end up with her running and digging in the clothes and chewing the plastic again. She even tries to chew the plastic screw covers on the arch door which she can hardly reach. She chases people with plastic bags etc. and she won't be held if there's plastic around, she will try to get away like mad and once she does she will atack the plastic. She is a very calm cat usually and loves to be held, I don't get why she is acting this way, please help or explain why..Thank you
Weird, isn't it. You might try making plastic so distasteful to her she starts to be leery of plastic and will, hopefully, eventually stop. I know my cats hate the smell of perfume and Fabreeze so we spray that on anything we don't want them messing with (you might need to respray daily for a while). Or see if your cat reacts (scrunchy face, backs away) to the smell of lemons or limes or oranges--if so, rub some peels on a plastic bag and leave it lying around so when she jumps on the bag, she'll get a tasteful of yucky citrus flavor. Dab whatever smell she finds nasty on anything plastic you can find in your home (recruit your family to help--you'll be suprised at how much stuff the average household has that is made of plastic). And drench things (maybe your book cover, or cables/cords) in the stuff and leave them for her to find and discover they taste bad now. If all the plastic she finds suddenly tastes bad, she'll start relating the bad taste to plastic and quit. But it might take a while and you're going to have to be on top of this constantly for a while until she learns to leave the plastic alone.
Q:I have two 18 inch decorative plastic pots that are for the outside.I haven't figured out yet what I want to put in them so for the time being I've put 2 foot christmas trees in each. Both pots have a drainage hole in the bottom of them.I live in the northeast and it gets pretty cold here in the winter. The pots sit on my driveway. I'm wondering if the plastic will crack in the winter because of the cold or will they be ok seeing as they have no soil in them? Thanks of any help.
I work in research for the plastics industry, so here is the short answer. You should take them in. They are most likely made of ABS, which is a rubberized styrene (a brittle plastic). Even though they don't have any soil in them to expand and crack the pots when frozen, the plastic can succumb to thermal shock and crack anyway. Certain plastics like HDPE and PET (food containers), can be frozen no problem, but unfortunately your pots are probably not either one of those materials. If you must keep them outside, keep them from freezing to the ground by completely covering them with a tied-off plastic bag to keep the moisture off
Q:what is you opinion on teens who get plastic surgery?
they're really sad. Plastic surgery is oh so unnecessary. i don't think it is the fault of the teens getting the surgery though. It is the fault of our society who judges people based off of how they look. don't deny it. everyone is shallow like that on some level.
Q:Ok.......i know that alot of plastic worms and lizards and soft baits like that come with salt already in them. But my question is can u soak the baits in something to make fish more attracted to them? Like soaking them in vanilla extract and salt? Or any other things like that? Kinda like marinating the plastic? lol.......just a question. It might be stupid but i was jus wonderin............
There are no stupid questions, only stupid people! (lol!) Seriously, letting plastics marinate is certainly nothing new or strange. I have a garlic butter concoction that I still use sometimes. I've even let plastics stay in a ziploc bag of coffee granules. Salt is great ,but salt alone on the surface of the plastic washes off after casting. Find something you feel good about, that can make a difference in how effectively you fish. It can be a bit of a mind thing.
Q:Would it be dangerous to boil a piece of plastic? (Specifically, the plastic used in the round things that cover a set of blank cd's)I'm going to use the plastic in a mold. If it is dangerous, what durable household plastic or material could I use to put in a mold?
plastic releases poisonous gases when burned
Q:I'm making rings out of plastic buttons my craft glue has run out. I was wondering if super glue will reck the plastic buttons? thanks for the help
No, instant glues (Super Glue, Krazy Glue, etc) won't dissolve plastic... we use it with polymer clay all the time which is also a plastic. The only things to stay away from with plastics are things that contain petroleum-based solvents (the ones that clean up with paint thinner, mineral spirits, etc.) like enamel paints, certain kinds of finishes, etc. Instant glues do best (even those that have been thickened) with *enough* surface areas that match *exactly* and which won't be subject to shear forces (pressure from the side) rather than pulling apart forces. So in order of best adhesion, I'd probably go with: ...2-part epoxy glue ...a strong white glue or one made for attaching to metal (Beacon's GemTac or Jewel It, or Weldbond or The Ultimate by Crafter's Pick)... but not a weaker white glue ...E6000 (for those last two, you may want to sand the surfaces first) (Polyurethane glues like Gorilla Glue will hold anything to anything, but Gorilla Glue is yellow and it swells while curing--so must be weighted or clamped. If you use it, don't start with too much and keep wiping away the part that oozes out in the beginning.) All that depends on the amount of stress your bond would be subjected to though, and less stress could do fine with other glues including clear cements though those aren't flexible at all. HTH, Diane B.
Q:We just put up a Lifetime outdoor shed and we were wondering if it would be ok to store our plastic gas can out there vs. keeping it in our garage.
You will have issues with evaporation and potential jumping without a lid. A simple glass lid should be fine to help prevent a ton of evaporation and to keep the fish from jumping. You can get a nice hinged glass lid for a 10 gallon tank for about $10. Also, watch out for the location as sunlight can not only cause algae growth, but can impact temperature. Lastly, replacing evaporation loss is not the same thing as a water change.
Q:Whenever I heat plastic, it hardens after it cools and becomes brittle. How do I stop that from happening or what do I mix it ?
extra suitable stick a chrome steel tube into the strains and clamp them. It sounds such as you have that GM flex-gas plastic line. That stuff gets brittle with age and that they do no longer make it anymore. optimistically it would not crack in yet another spot. do no longer positioned any warmth on that line. i could replace the line and in no way use E85, it truly is not any solid besides so a approaches as capacity is worried.
Q:A man got a plastic surgery..but He got. not any plastic element after this surgery ...?He had thought this is a lowcost surgery coz of plastic ....and after surgery his look would look like a super hero character with plastic elements on the face and body..!?..but He got faint after hearing the price..almost $ 6000-8000..!..
When referencing surgical procedures, plastic is an adjective term derived from the adjective form of the surgical suffix -plasty, which refers to a surgical reconstruction or reformation. For example, a rhinoplasty is a reconstruction or reformation of the nose, or a mammoplasty is the reconstruction or reformation of a breast. The adjective form of the surgical suffix -plasty is -plastic. When you see the term plastic functioning as a whole term (not as a suffix), with reference to surgery, it means pertaining to surgical reconstruction or reformation of (a part of) the body. So, rhinoplastic surgery is plastic surgery performed on the nose, and has nothing to do with the use of plastic material.
