With GI as base material, after pretreatment (degrease and chemical treatment ) and liquid dope with several layers of color, then after firing and cooling, finally the plate steel is called pre-painted galvanized (aluzinc) steel. Pre-painted galvanized steel is good capable of decoration, molding, corrosion resistance. It generally displays superior workability, durability and weather resistance.

Q:for a roof spanning 14.4m x 8.4m on a residential house, is it better to use timber trusses or steel trusses? the priorities are; ease of construction, price, insulation (want to keep heat out, i am in a tropical country), durability, flexibility, minimal load on foundations.please help. thank you :-)
How about another option - Steel Re-inforced Concrete Beams. Beam planks would span 8.4 metres but to keep the cost down have an I beam support at 4.2m. Concrete is great. It goes on quick, is sound proof, (very nice when it rains or for road traffic), can have gravel laid on top to act as a heat sink for winter sun and can be covered with normal roof steel if you want to hide it. Its also rust and borer free. While you would need good supports for the front and back, although with an I beam you can have a floating front, it is not much more than what is required for a wooden top. Design it right and your roof could be a future floor for the next addition.
Q:I'm missing the arguement, and I've seen another question like this... but the steel toe issue has 2 scenario's right?... Let me label them out, the 2nd is the one that no one talks about?Note to anyone - how are your catapillar boots, your wolverines, and then your cheap walmart/sears brands?1. Steel toe on, toes get cut off because of something falling on them. OUCH!.. Reattach perhaps?2. This one is what I question. No steel toe, large object falls on toes. SMASH... Pudding in your shoes.Wouldn't it be safer to say you'de be better off with a steel toe?
I have been wearing Brahma brand steel toe work boots for the past 10 years (no, not the same pair for 1o years.. Each pair last me 2-4 years). They have ANSI class 75 steel toes. I work with cars, engines, tools all day long.. In the last 10 years I have had a transmission fall on my foot from about 2 feet high.. A bare cast iron engine block (153 lbs) break the bolts holding it to an engine stand and land on both of my feet. A camaro back over my foot with it's left rear wheel. Non of those things even dented the steel toe.. Just cut the leather covering the steel. No harm at all was done to my toes/feet. With out the steel toe boots, I know my toes/feet would have been broken.. 10 years so far, and from my results I plan on wearing steel toe boots for atleast another 30 years.
Q:engineering sloutions related to steel fabrication
not okorder /
Q:I love the design! It looks great, is safe, and you can see through it just fine on camera. Do you like it?BQ: Old Blue WWF Steel Cage or the newer fence type steel cage?
TNA steel cage is alot more better i agree with you its safe and can see through it just fine on camera.. BQ: i think newer fence type because it does slow down a match and its brutal.. Old blue cage is just a bit too wide that someone can easily jump two or three squares up and finsihed, nah its too quickly finishing a match into that cage.
Q:If I wear a pair of thick wool socks, is walking around in the snow with steel-toed boots going to be a problem? I'm wondering if the steel will make my toes too cold.
should be ok and not cold if you go by what is written in the posting you quoted however if you are thinking of buying them just for the snow i would consider something else much cheaper. however if you already have them then not a problem, i suggest you give it a test run.
Q:exactly what is the differance between strontuim steel and stainless steel any differances as far as hardness .... need help.
Strontium steel is created by soaking a mild steel in strontium chromate, which has a pH of about 4 or 5, roughly the equivalent of acid rain. Chromate affects the cathodic reaction, with reduction of Cr6+ to Cr3+, and the surface film was composed of magnetite and hydrated chromium hydroxide. The Strontium is a radioactive isotope. The acid bath permeates the mild steel causing it to become mildly radioactive. Simular to oil imprengation of brass and other metals. Strontium Steel has a very high value of inhibition. However due to it's radioactive properties it is not a commonly used or manufactured material. As for where to actually obtain Strontium steel dowels. I have no idea i would speculate that you would have to purchase the raw stock and have it machined into a dowel for you.
Q:Want to get stainless steel sink. I want quality, durability, quiet, etc. Any suggestions??
One part of our home is the kitchen, which is usually one of the busiest parts of the home. And part of it is the kitchen sink; as you look at the sink, you can hardly tell how much work is done in the sink. And in our daily activities, most of us use our sink in our own personal needs. Most of the time, we wash our face and clean our clothes, shoes and anything that needs to be washed in our sink. With this kind of job that the sink is going through in its everyday life, sink must be tough enough to take all the pressure of its job. Ordinary sink will not last long when it is use regularly. It may acquire rust, scratches and dent as we have use it in a regular basis, this is why we need to look for a sink that can manage to handle different usage and tasks in our home. In choosing a sink for our home, we must consider the quality and not the price alone. Stainless steel sink is easy to clean; stain and rust are needed not to worry because stainless steel sink is proven a rustproof material. But of course proper care for the sink should always be taken care of to make use of the sink for a very long time. In shopping for a sink, it can be hassle knowing that stainless steel sink is made of heavy material. And the good news is that stainless steel sink can be bought online. You can shop through the internet and you can have the freedom to choose a sink that will fit your kitchen.
Q:Help please.What atoms are there in steel?Like water is equals to 1 Oxygen atom + 2 Hydrogen atoms.Thnx 4 d help.
Steel is an alloy consisting mostly of iron, with a carbon content between 0.2 and 1.7 or 2.04% by weight (C:1000–10,8.67Fe), depending on grade. Steel is Fe(iron) and Carbon alloy. These are the atoms in certain ratio that make up steel. Its not a molecule but alloy.
Q:steel welding with ms steel iron
Welding austenitic stainless steels to carbon and low alloy steels are established methods in the process and construction industries. Dissimilar metal welds involving stainless steels can be done using most full fusion weld methods, including TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) and MIG (Metal Inert Gas). Weld procedures using filler (consumable) enable better control of joint corrosion resistance and mechanical properties. In selecting the weld filler, the joint is considered as being stainless, rather than the carbon steel. Over-alloyed fillers are used to avoid dilution of the alloying elements in the fusion zone of the parent stainless steel.
Q:I was cutting a sheet of steel with an angle grinder when suddenly the rate at which the blade was cutting slowed way down. I tried a few different things, and turned off the tool and looked at the blade. It didn't look damaged, but it definitely was not cutting as quickly. I thought either I had hit a harder section of steel (is that possible? It looked pretty uniform) or the blade had lost it's abrasive quality or something. Also, before this happened I had accidentally cut into the wooden sawhorse that was holding up the steel sheet, but I've done that before with no problem. After a short while the problem fixed itself and the rate of cutting went back to a fast normal. Anyone know why this happened?
Sounds like the abrasive surface got blinded, coated with something that prevented the abrasive particles from touching the steel. It is possible to have vastly different hardnesses in a single piece of steel. Case hardening, carburizing, induction hardening, heat affected zone from welding, differences in work hardening, and presence of inclusions are some of the things that can create hardness variation within a single piece. But... sounds like you are working with a sheet which is unlikely to have any of these conditions. So... it was probably the grinding disk
