With Gl (aluzinc) as base metal, after pretreatment (degrease and chemical treatment) and liquid dope with several layers od color, then after firing and cooling, finally the plate steel is called pre-painted galvanized (aluzinc) steel.
Pre-painted galvanized steel is good capable of decoration, molding, corrosion resistance.
It generally displays superior workability, durability and weather resistance.

- Well, okorder /... They did make other folders in M2 steel, but the thing is those are out of production and the cost is very high. Spyderco made M4 steel folder knives, and so did Benchmade. Although,both are outside of 50$ budget. I guess Opinels are best option.

- Types of steel are one issue. But the quality of steel no matter what type is even more important. The only way to be sure that you are getting a good blade is to buy from someone that already has a reputation for producing great blades. Stop the questions about who thinks what type of steel is best and investigate the steel blades offered by companies like Bugei Trading company. they have good blades. Opinions vary, but Bugei has proven that they make good swords. That is all that is needed to be known. Any questions you have are best directed to them, not here.

- You have opened a can of worms. Specific types of steel vary not only by composition but by the way they were made, their physical properties and their morphology (microscopic structure). The composition you have given would fit for High Carbon Steel and Medium Carbon Steel. Go to the reference I've given, it allows you to put in 3 of the components of your alloy and then it gives you a list of possibilities. You can open each candidate individually and see the full composition. Hours of fun. :)

- I know that mild steel is more brittle than cast iron You know wrong - cast iron is very brittle and mild steel is easy to bend and work. Cast iron is a high carbon product while mild steel is much lower carbon

I do NOT want to buy leather, and I will go to great lengths to buy a non leather shoe/boot I can wear on the job! I AM currently borrowing my dad's leather ANSI boots, but would very much love to be able to rock a pair of cruelty free boots/shoes on the job!It does not have to be certified vegan just all man-made materials and no leather/sued and other such stuff where animals have to die. It would make me no better than the massive slaughterhouse industries and such. Valueing money of ver live/morals.
