Q:nan
oh my goodness. make the investment aand update them
Q:I have in mind a small solar panel that could be plugged into a wall socket. Do I need a converter or some kind of interference between the two power sources so there aren't any unpleasant explosions? I don't know much about this sort of thing so please be nice.
No a solar panel puts out DC voltage like a car battery and you house uses Ac voltage generated voltage yes you need a converter to use the dc on an ac unit depends on the Amperage out put of the solar panel
Q:Well I was thinking about the idea of renovating either a smaller school bus or building a tiny house and I was wondering if i can get some information on the size and watts panel should I use or more like how to get that whole solar energy in motion. Any infor and links would help
I think that typical solar panels are 2'x4' and produce something like 800-000 wh per day. (That's 0.8 - kwh per day.) More in the summer, less in the winter, if they're aimed sort of at the sun. There are newer, more expensive panels that produce more. There are also thin film panels that are less expensive, and probably more sturdy. You then have a couple choices. In a house, you'd have an expensive inverter to connect to the utility power, so you can have power at night when your panels aren't generating anything. In a trailer, you want 2-4-6 deep cycle car batteries to store the power. Then you could have an inverter to convert that power to 20v AC, so you could use normal appliances. Or, you could buy appliances that run on 2 volts DC. Maybe a combination of both. You'll need to figure out how much power you're going to use, so you know how many panels and batteries you're going to need. The calculation is easy. Figuring out how much power you need is hard. You need deep cycle batteries because you can repeatedly charge them way up and run them way down. Ordinary batteries die fairly quickly when you do that.
Q:I need a new roof soon and I was wondering what the difference in cost would be from a standard shingle roof to a roof including solar panels. Does anyone know the cost difference?
The solar panels are very expensive to provide much power. If u go that way do not skimp on the support as a high wind will blow them away. In Ecuador I put in a remote site for communications. It was working good when a Strong wind blew $0.000 worth of solar panels all over the jungle.
Q:Are you a Solar Panel Specialist/Genius/Enthusiast?
Yes and No. I'm hardly a 'genius' or 'specialist' but I have built a couple solar panels on my own. They're actually pretty easy to construct and you can find all of the materials at your local hardware store. Each panel cost me about $60 to make. Solar technology is jumping by leaps and bounds, becoming more and more efficient :photo voltaic cells, for example. Solar energy is a viable energy source, that's for certain.
Q:So how does a solar panel work? Where does the energy get stored in? How much does one cost for a small 2 family home? How much money would we save on electricity?
In the short, a solar panel is composed of many solar cells...all tied together and in some sort of a frame for mounting. When energy from the sun hits it, it creates a reaction which can feed electricity through leads to a converter system which takes the Direct Current power and converts it into Alternating Current. If you rewire your house for DC products I suppoes you wo'nt need the converter. but most of these systems are retro-fits. Batteries provide back up source to the system when the sun goes down. So solar is converted to electricity through the panel, which goes to your solar system which both provides power to the house and to recharge batteries. The batteries take over when the sun is down. So you will need to know how much battery capacity you need by calculating the Amp hour rating of your applicances that you normally use at night like Microwave, TV, radio, refrigerator, etc. For some depending on the appliance....water heater (if electric) or stove) then you need to figure out how many panels you need to provide your normal daily energy use, figure out how many batteries you need, set up a distribution system that gives you what you need where you want it and wa la. Once done, you will be off the grid and paying nothing from the electrical utility. Some places due to deregulations allow you to sell excess power to local utilities too, but those systems need to meet tight standards.
Q:So during the day, electricity is on, everything is on and working fine. But at night where there is no sunlight does all the electricity shut down for the night? So there is no light on for me during the night, or I can't watch tv at night? Is it also true that with solar panels, your bills are less expensive. Can someone please tell me these things
My mum has solar panels and her electricity is still on all the time. If she uses stuff during the day, it doesn't cost her anything, as the panels are generating electricity, but at night if she uses things, then it will cost her coz there's no sun and no electricity being generated. She's still connected to the grid to use electricity but because she's feeding the electricity produced by her solar panels back into the grid the company pays her a certain amount for the no. of Watts that's produced. They cost a lot to install, but as she is generating more than she's using (even taking night time into account) she is being paid more back. e.g. before panels she paid ~?30per month. Now she receives ~?70per month. so she's about ?00 a month better off (coz she's saving the 30 AND being paid the 70 on top of that)! and will therefore gain the money back that she paid in in about 8 years or so. Hope that makes sense!
Q:How much would solar panels cost for: A Cell phoneA average houseA car
in case you recognize the place to look you get get image voltaic panels for 0 expenses. as an occasion, numerous sign companies use image voltaic panels. touch your interior sight sign company and tell them you will haul off all their broken image voltaic panel for loose. they're oftentimes extra beneficial than keen to assist you are trying this.
Q:Are there any free classes to learn about solar energy and building a solar panel
There okorder . Building solar panels, none. There are internet sites where you can buy unframed panels to design your own. but you need a current stabilizer and possibly a power inverter to go with it.
Q:I am told there are night vision goggles to see at night due to invisible light still hitting earth. I am also told that there are other beams, x-rays etc hitting earth. Why couldn't they invent a solar panel with dual power in the day?It could harness both visible and invisible light, and at night be single?Anyone know why they can't make an invisible light solar panel? Is this possible? What happens if future cars have night vision windshields instead of lights?
Solar panels work when the metals from which they are made release electrons when hit by radiation. There is a threshold that, below a certain wavelength/frequency, they do not eject electrons. As frequency increases, more electricity flows. Radio and infrared are the least energetic electromagnetic waves.
